The countdown is on!

Ok, so we're now five days to launch and we have locked in most of the legs. Our route page has been updated with the current plan and we currently have about 60 pilots participating. In other fun facts:
- The route distance currently stands at 10,226 nm or 18,939 km without any of the local flights we have planned.
- We have already raised $6442 for Cancer Council purely by word of mouth with the relay yet to kick off.
- We're currently planned to visit 56 airports around Australia, from ALAs to capital city airports.
- Aircraft types (that we currently know of) being flown in the relay include a balloon, a possible skydive, a possible glider flight, C152s, C172s, C182s, PA28s, a floatplane, helicopters (both civil and military), Dash 8, PC9, F100 and B737-800s.

Get ready to pass the baton!

Update on our route

Just a quick one tonight everyone. Our relay planning is well and truly getting close to being locked in and we'll have a linked Google Map on our route page soon. For those who are interested, we've currently got the baton going 17,988 km around Australia with two states yet to be finalised. Now, if only this baton could collect frequent flyer points!

Here's a sneak peek of where we'll be heading. Dates to come out soon.

Well done Foxy Ladies!!

We were so excited to hear from the Foxy Ladies team that we just had to share!! Well done Heather and Nathalie!

"I am flying in the foxbat in the relay leg from Caboolture to Bundaberg with Nathalie Gochel as copilot. So far we are very excited that we have raised $1160 for the relay.

Peter Harlow from Foxbat Australia has been our main sponsor with a $500 donation along with some photos of the aircraft signed by the designer to offer as a draw for all sponsors to have a chance to win."

We'll be putting up a new page on this blog soon with some of our relay pilots photos and their stories, so stay tuned and if you can spare a few dollars to donate, you can donate here to help the Foxy Ladies team effort, or for the general group site, you can donate here.
